You know when you find a blog that gives you nothing but inspiration? One that makes you want to create more, and do more, and be more! That's how I feel about Madebygirl. Luckily for me, Jennifer, the mastermind behind this amazing brand, has agreed to do an interview with me!
I found her blog not too long ago, but have been hooked ever since! I saw her "Blogs and Coffee" piece, fell in love, and ordered it that day. I have been following ever since with the hope that Aspiring Couture will turn into something near the success of hers.
She is a perfect example of someone who followed her dream, created her own designs, and made a name for herself through her beautiful work. I thought it would be helpful to you readers if I got a bit of inside information from Jennifer! So, here you go :)
MadebyGirl
I know you have an in depth interview on your blog, but for our readers, can you give a little insight to who you are, things you like, and things you like to do when you are not working?
I'm Jennifer Ramos, owner of MadebyGirl.com. Born & raised in NYC....and now live and run my home-based business from Las Vegas, Nevada, I have 2 small work places in my home. One on the first floor of my home & the other is on the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor workspace needs a bit of an overhaul....but I really like my office downstairs...I have to keep it looking nice since it's a bit visible from my kitchen. When I'm not busy working I love to go to the movies, museums, Starbucks & bookstores!
Where do you gather inspiration from to create the amazing art you have as well as the blog you continually update?
Madebygirl has probably already reached some of your original goals with it's great success so far, but what are some of your current goals for Madebygirl?
I'd love to get the cards into more stores & perhaps be able to design a print for Urban Outfitters, that would be such a dream!
How did Madebygirl come about, and what was it like for you in the beginning?
In the beginning it was quite a challenging, but I never stopped forging ahead. Research was a huge part of the initial stages of my business and i had to get the right info in order to obtain the products i needed to start. In order to keep growing my business, I think it's important to keep my momentum & not get too comfortable where I am now.
What is one tip you would give to an aspiring artist or aspiring blogger that you felt has helped you achieve the success you now have?
It's important that you realize it will not all happen over night. Do your research, stay focused and work hard. It's easy to deviate from the task at hand, especially when you work from home. You have to set up a schedule in order to make it all work hand in hand, if not, you'll find yourself drifting away from the business you wanted to start in the first place.
