Timeless Love

The Oh-So-Chic will never fail to add a few pearls to her wardrobe. It is just one of those things that adds class and sophistication instantly and can be worn with many types of outfits in many different ways.

I came across this designer while looking for wedding accessories, but these pieces can be used for so much more. I love the pearl-Swarovski crystal mix which more of these pieces have.

The honeymoon stage is ending....

Well, the honeymoon stage is officially ending and my runway show and I are left to battle our differences. In the past few days this show has become my baby. Too excited to think, I just kept coming up with millions and millions of ideas. My mind was racing, and I literally couldn't stop! Well the dust has settled and my focus has begun to take over. The excitement is ending and what is taking its place? Sheer overwhelm! Yep! Well, great. I was hoping the excitement would just keep me above all the stress for the next 6 weeks and I would make it through alive. It doesn't look like that is going to happen.

I found a venue, and there really is nothing quite wrong with it, except that suddenly I want other options, I want a different style, and I want to restart. AND THEN, well where do I get lighting? Is anyone going to be there? Will the sponsors come through? blah blah blah.

For a moment of NOT freaking out I will say 2 things.

1. The idea that I have in my mind is pretty epic. Not only do I have a way to find some pretty amazing sponsors, I have lots and lots of ways to promote it. I did my research and I have found what will be the key to a successful event. This could potentially bring twice or three times as many people as I am expecting. And I definitely know I do have the ability to create an awesome looking event, and be able to pull the whole thing off in 6 weeks. So, with that, I guess I really can do it.

Of course I would love to be receiving e-mails of models and designers who are interested in adding to the ranks! So, tell your friends.

2.Secondly, I quite like this clutch from Foxcrow. And I have been looking for a really cute, but big clutch. So there you have it!

Tis the season...for a runway show!

I have recently been about the worst blogger ever! BUT, for today I have a really good excuse. I started the actual logistics of the runway show I want to hold in December! Yep, it's only about 7 weeks away! Eeeeks! I have gone through literally every emotion on it but have just decided to go ahead and take that leap, so to speak!

There are SO many maybes and so many things that could go wrong. The number probably hovers around the number 1,000,000. But, I am not going to let that stop me, and instead I am going to host an amazing runway show!

It will of course feature the "Aspiring Couture designers" and possibly some others. We have found the space and I have to wait until Monday to confirm that I actually get it!

As far as what I have planned on it so far we have a few really exciting perks and some really fun details. The show is going to feature about 10 designer lines which will all be available for purchase that day. The winter collections are beyond amazing, so I am quite excited to show them. The decor will be mostly whites, silver and gold with some great colored lights shining on the runway.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $30 for VIP admission.

A bit of the perks for the general admission tickets-each attendee will receive a gift bag filled with goodies from various sponsors. Look out for coupons, product samples, other fun freebies all contained in an Aspiring Couture tote bag! (I am really excited about those!)

VIP ticket holders will receive upgraded gift bags including more coupons and products, as well as a gift certificate to the Aspiring Couture store! VIP ticket holders will also get front row seats to the show!

Everyone will receive 10% off everything purchased that day as well! We are making it super easy for everyone to get some Christmas shopping done at our event and will be offering full returns through January.

NOW, some of the things we need to figure out are:

Sponsors
Promotion
Lighting and Music
Models
Backstage assistants
(and oh so much more)

If you want to contribute as a model, a designer, a sponsor, a promoter, or anything else I am definitely open to help! E-mail me at aspiringcouture@gmail.com and let me know what help you would like to provide. Believe me, I am definitely open to it!

Can you please let me know of the ideas/plans I have worked out so far? I really need some feedback here!

See you all in six weeks!

SALLY - on sale now!

I was BEYOND when I was first introduced to the S LOVE line. I thought the designs were brilliant and the image was so together. I quite love finding designers like this because it really proves to me that what I am doing is worth it because these designers are worth it!

I then heard mention of the less expensive line "SALLY" which was by S LOVE. Yay for that, right?

The line definitely has the elements that make S LOVE so distinct. And they added a clutch too!

Wedding Wednesday

I first saw these amazing bouquets on Wedding Chicks. I went right to the website and ended up e-mailing the company. The nicest girl Fantasy Floral Designs responded to my price inquiries.

My thought process: Have each of the bridesmaids hold one of these and I will hold a real bouquet. I should have waited until I received the pricing info before I went ahead and added this new idea to the plans.

Pieces like the ones above run for about $1,000. Well, not that I could justify spending that much on my bouquet, there was absolutely no way I could justify spending that on the bridesmaids! They do have another option which I think is a rather personal idea and sounds pretty awesome actually. You can send over a collection of your own brooches or vintage brooches. I know that my grandma had about a million brooches so using those would add a personal touch to the bouquet. The price for that is $300.

Alexis Jewelry

Alexis Jewelry creates these simple and sophisticated necklaces using top of the line products. At first glance I liked the pieces, and could totally see myself wearing them. They weren't over the top and they weren't flashy. I thought they were very modest and quite a good addition to really any outfit.

The gold ones retail for $275 and the silver retail for $110. Each is made of high quality material and has a diamond as well. At first I thought that wasn't worth it, but I don't quite know anymore. Is it?

So Pure

Remember that artist feature we did on Kempt a while back on the blog? Well, happily for Aspiring Couture, we are now selling the Kempt Pure Tote on our website!

I am absolutely thrilled about this as my favorite thing ever is handbags! And I quite love this one. The title, "Pure" communicates this bag perfectly from the simple detailing to the modest color. My favorite part of this bag? It's massive!! And no bag could ever be too big!

I am seriously in love.

Check it out on aspiringcouture.com now! And we are definitely looking forward to carrying more of the Kempt handbags in the future.

The line doesn't launch until October 15th, but I thought I would give a little glimpse of what is to come!

See you on October 15!

Whitten Grey

I quite love these pieces. The simplicity and beauty that these pieces portray is just amazing. And I definitely have to give it to the photographer and models. They really did an amazing job representing exactly what this brand communicates.

AND - with every dress that is purchased, Whitten Grey is giving one to a little girl. So, your purchase is also helping someone less fortunate. Always a great reward right?

You need to check out the website. It is incredibly creative, fun and simple. It is actually one of my faves!
