Amazing Jewelry by YellowGoat

I am absolutely in love with this piece of jewelry! I think it is actually an incredible concept and the execution of it with the balloons being the "necklace" and the girl hanging from the balloons really does create the image that she is flying away with the balloons. I like the colors she uses, and I am a major fan of gold jewelry! It's coming back! Sort of reminds me of Banksy, though not entirely the same.

This artist - YellowGoat - has some equally adorable and creative pieces like the one above. The price tag, matchbox and sugar and spice jars, are all cute and clever pieces of jewelry! She is definitely one talented artist!

Based in Hong Kong, she has quickly made a name for herself through Esty making 53 sales after opening shop in November 2008. She's fairly new, but she has a great talent and a lot to offer!

Follow her on Twitter as well! Happy Shopping for all of you who love these pieces as much as I do!

Follow Friday - Fave social networks!

For follow friday I am recommending some of my other fave social networks and the twitter minds behind them!

@keepitclassyjen Creator of "Classy Closet" a fun network to talk fashion and other girly things! She has a couple of different blogs and things going on - which are all awesome! So, check her twitter out to get more info on all the different endeavors she has going on! Check out my profile.

@modepass Well, the twitter is actually in another language that I don't know, but the social network is pretty awesome! Simple, and complete with pics, video, articles, etc. there are a lot of ways to create your own image through modepass! Check out my profile.

@mompreneurcafe A fun network to connect mompreneurs together! Lots of networking and twitter talk is passed around ! It's a pretty cool site to connect with some other entrepreneurs who are all interested in helping each other! Check out my profile.

@cafehandmade A great great idea for a social network, twitter page, etc! The "cafe handmade lounge" is for all crafty people! This gives everyone a chance to connect, show off new products, get some great feedback. I personally love this site and use it a lot because I love the creativity in this one! Check out my profile.

@motherlove_ Writer and creator of the "Love being a Mother" social network. This is a great network for those mothers or soon to be mothers out there! Check out my profile.

Tell me what you think!

I want to know what you think! I have been blogging for about 2 months now, and I want to get some real feedback from you all!

The original point of my blog, and my original vision has shifted very quickly. I had the idea that I was going to post and promote designers, any of my boutique sales, and events. That was pretty much what I was looking at at first. My thoughts and ideas have already changed drastically! I want to feature so much more on the blog. I want to make my blog and place where I can give information and inspiration. The problem is I don't want to sway too far away from my point and start going off on all these other things!

But, I would like to hear from you and let me know what you think! Whether you just found the blog, or if you have been following since the beginning-it doesn't matter! I am truly grateful to all of you and can't thank you enough for the support and dedication you show!

Please either take my feedback survey, leave me comments, or e-mail me (aspiringcouture@gmail.com) with any thoughts, ideas, etc. I definitely love hearing from all of you.

Thanks!

Wedding Wednesday-The Flower Girl!

Wouldn't you want this cute baby to be your flower girl? What a fashion statement. Just picture it-beautiful formal white and gold wedding, with the accent colors you can't live without-and down the aisle walks this little cutie pie instantly lightening the mood and creating a bold statement no one has seen in a wedding before! You would be the talk of the town :)

Or you, in the picture below, look at that lovely skirt! It is made with care and attention instead of just "sewing something together". I love this one as well! Not quite as "bold" but still such a cute piece! I love the layers and colors on that skirt!

Clarissa Nassar, founder of POSHpreneur, is also the creator of these pieces through her line Tres Couture. She is one busy girl with her blog, etsy shop, Posh Parent as well as being a newly appointed Glambassador!

These pieces were made for everyday wear, dress-up, or wedding! So buying one of these cute skirts means that it won't be sitting in your closet forever next to your wedding gown catching dust. :)

Sofie Olgaard - Perfect for Summer!

The simplicity of these designs make your fashion choices look effortless-but stunning. I love the simple colors and fabrics. These dresses and this designer, Sofie Olgaard, are a perfect choice.

We are going through a bit of a heat wave as I write this, and I would give anything to be able to wear these light and airy designs. The small spaghetti straps make that dress look like a comfortable thing to wear anyday, not to mention the great dip in the back! These can be dressed up or dressed down quite easily, probably with just the type of shoe you pick!

Check out her website for so much more just like this! I can't wait to find out what the Fall collection is going to look like! :)

iPhone

So, I may be a bit obsessed with the iPhone-honestly I think I am. But, I have been phone-less for about 2 days, and I absolutely hate it! So, that sort of gives me a reason to be sitting here blogging in the line for the new iPhone at 5:43 am. Right?

I started last night where I packed 3 protein bars, an apple, banana and water-as well as my laptop, business calender, make-up (cause I obvi didn't do my make-up BEFORE I got here!) so I would be able to stay busy the whole time. I laid out my outfit, put the bags together, set 3 alarms so I would for sure wake-up, and then headed to bed.

No joke, I couldn't sleep!!!! I kept looking at the clock -2 more hours! - 1 more hour! until my alarm went off. I got ready and left. I arrived at the Apple Store at 5:02 :)

There were about 30 people in front of me-most of which, I later found out, had pre-ordered. (Don't know why they didn't come at like 9 when there was no line. They woke up at 4:00!) Free Starbucks came by, and I sat on my computer sending e-mails, blogging and tweeting! I ended up tweeting with a guy in line with me, and another not too far away! What fun it was.

Steve Woz came and of course there were people getting his autograph and talking to him. I wasn't one of those people. They announced at about 5:50 that they were going to be opening the store early. Instead of 7:00 it was going to be 6:00! I was out of the Apple store, iPhone in hand at 6:32 am.

I have to say that Apple is amazing. It was quite a seamless experience. They escorted you from place to place in the store, and then you left. There was no confusion, problems or anything! They finally have it down to such a science-which makes it so simple for all the people who are waiting in that line!

So, congrats to Apple for finally figuring out the iPhone release situation! Oh and the new phone is great! :) That's a picture of my baby! (The WHITE one!)

Launch-Nikera Clothing!

NIKERA COTHING - a great friend of Aspiring Couture's, has just launched her beautiful, brand new website! You definitely have to check out the new site, new line, and everything else she has on it!

"Nikera Clothing" stands for "Nikki's Era" with the mission "to bring class and sophistication back to the streets of America." Starting in the fall of 2008-Nikera is quickly becoming known for her unconventional color choices and designs. We can always use something to spice up our lives, and through this clothing collection we are well on your way!

Such a great artist and friend, Nikki has had an interesting life, but had one goal above all others to change the "boredom (she felt) with the choices of fabrics and patterns within the ready-to-wear departments.” A great goal if you ask me! I haven't seen anything like her work before, and I couldn't be more excited to see what is coming up next! (Per her-Kids, Men's and Swimwear!)

Wedding Wednesday - MGMart

View the MGMart ETSY shop for 17 pages full of beautiful original pieces like this!

These pieces are so delicate and beautiful. I love this idea for a wedding, either for the flower girl as in above-or the bride. People seem to be modernizing a bit with their wedding choices, and flowers, either like this or real ones, are a simple and cute way to add that extra piece to your wedding look. You could just go ahead and ditch the veil altogether, OR add the two together (You would have to be careful with that though. You don't want too much going on around the hair/head area to take away from your hair/make-up and face!)

This oversized flower with simple beads inside adds a simple touch to your look, but it allows people to keep focus on your whole look! Here are some pics I found of wedding looks using flowers.

I hope these pics give you some good ideas for weddings-or even some formal affair you are involved in!

It will help you to also comment on this blog post telling us a little bit more about what your blog is! So, go ahead! Promote yourself!

Wedding Wednesday-Onerary

I am a huge fan of the traditional wedding dress. I really love the idea of walking down the aisle in a poofy white gown that takes people's breathe away. But poofy and princess-like is not the thing for everyone! Some people like to go a bit off the road when it comes to their wedding, and they like to do something different! More and more-I have seen different colors and styles that I never would have imagined to be wedding dresses. (Still, some are sooo cute!) Though I am not ready to start showing off bright red or blue wedding dresses, I will show a bit of a different style I found!

I actually really like this style! I think it's cute, trendy and a completely different look for a wedding. Actually, you can even use these as bridesmaids' dresses. Ooooh, I will have to post a "Wedding Wednesday" about bridesmaid dresses soon, as those are fun!

This style offers a fun, less formal approach to a wedding. Maybe on a beach, or in a park. Either way, I think it would set the tone that you are there to have fun-and there is no need for the formalities people are used to in a wedding. Guests will be able to loosen their tie a bit, and dance the night away!

If, like me, you are not quite ready to give up the poofy wedding gown-this could be the prefect reception party dress. This way you can still have your chance to be formal and have the wedding of your dreams, then you could change it up and have a fun celebration for your reception! I could really go for that idea! There is no point in carrying around 30 pounds of fabric all night-let loose and have fun on your wedding day!

Now, as for this look-this is something more along the lines of a more traditional wedding gown. Strapless long white dress, with some flair! The hint of gold is a great addition, but still keeps the dress formal. I think it is just amazing actually, and could actually see myself wearing this for my wedding. I think you would have to ditch the hat in exchange for a veil though-as fashion forward as it is-I don't think its quite the right feel for "Walking down the Isle"!

Onerary is the designer of these and many more amazing pieces! You can check out her shop or website (not done yet) for more inspirational pieces! I love her tag line on her website "Coming soon with a new perspective". That is exactly what she is putting forward.

Can't wait to see more from her!

LauraKathleen Designs

This designer offers the look of simplicity and versatility in the clothing without going overboard or being boring! The simple styles and fabrics are perfect for a day on the sun, or a nice evening out. There is so much you can do with these pieces to dress them up, or dress them down which make them a great contribution to your closet!

In the above dress she takes a simple black dress, and adds a twist to it with the sleeve choice and the whole in the middle. The clothing isn't boring or too simple or something you have seen a million times. She really adds her stamp to each piece of clothing by making it different, yet it is still simple and chic.

Check out her website (It's ADORABLE!!) and you will find an extra treat-swimwear! That's right, she has some very cute styles up right now too!

Mommy Monday

When I started the idea of the boutique I figured it would be women's fashions. But I am finding all these others interests I have and want to expand into! One of the things is a maternity line including clothes, baby shower cards, lotions, nutrition products, etc. and the other is a baby line. So, I have decided that Monday is now " Mommy Monday" where I share the links for maternity and baby lines for you all!

This week I am showing off these CUTE shoes I found! I am going to have to try and find the designer again-and when I do-I will make sure to refer her! These simple maryjane-style shoes are such a cute addition to any babies closet! So adorable :)

Strive to Inspire

A quote from Marc Jacobs popped into my head when looking at this artist's work. "I'd rather be hated than inspire no feeling whatsoever".

These are not the traditional pieces you would find in a woman's closet. There is a sense of risk and it pays off in this case. This artist communicated her ideas in a more non-traditional way. These pieces are very opinionated, and they all seem to be like that. They break the mold a bit or what a women is supposed to wear-but at the same time there is still a classic elegance about them which I totally love!

Controversy could spring up about "fashionable or not" (and though I think these totally are) but I think the true point is this artists ability to take risks and communicate a point of view!

If this isn't art-I don't know what is! I also have to just put a quick plus in for the photography. It's amazing! And I can not stress enough how important it is to have great photographs in fashion! It really just completes the communication and let's the buyer really get that message.

Wedding Wednesday AND Contest Winner!

Hello All!!!

Well-the contest winner has been picked, and incidentally it goes along perfect with Wedding Wednesday! So, let me introduce the contest winner-and our feature for Wedding Wednesday- ArteVitta. Congrats!

ArteVitta, meaning "Art for Life" is the name this artist has chosen to perfectly represent her work. "At ArteVitta, we believe that art should be enjoyed by as many people as possible. Jewelry is the ideal piece of art as it can be enjoyed by both the wearer and all those who see it. ArteVitta Jewelry is designed to brighten the worlds of all who see it."

This ring is incredible! Rings are just one things she offers, but they are my personal favorite!!! I had to show these specifically for you all to see-but check out her website and etsy shop for much more including necklaces (those chunky kind that I love), earrings, pendants, and more beautiful rings.
